Small Business First Episode 5

Kochie’s Business Builders is back for episode 5 of our special series, Small Business First.

The past few weeks have seen businesses reopening and rebuilding from the COVID-19 lockdown. However, in this episode of Small Business First, we are throwing the spotlight on a couple of business owners who have been brave enough to kick off their business whilst the rest of the country was in hibernation.

We take a look at what it takes to start a business in a time of crisis and explore how preparation and laying the foundations are key to success.

First, we catch up with Moira Geddes from Eativity a new online food news site launched during the lockdown. Moira joins Kochie at Barangaroo Studios to talk through how she kickstarted her side hustle which celebrates purveyors of fine local produce and explores the latest recipes and food trends.

Sarah Hunter, Managing Director Officeworks speaks with Kochie about how to set yourself up to work from home. Sarah says having the right tech to set up your business is critical especially now many staff work remotely. Sarah gives her top tips for how to set up right, from the start.

We meet up with Sean Greenhalg, CEO and co-founder of TimeChi. Sean talks with us about TimeChi can help business owners with managing their productivity and time. Sean explains how he used TimeChi to stay productive during lockdown. When everyone else was going into hibernation Sean ramped up the launch of the business.

While our panel discussion this week is with Michael Fox cofounder of Fable Foods and Grace McBride cofounder of Spend With Them. The pair join Kochie via Skype at the Barangaroo Studio to discuss how to start a business during a crisis.
